Last week Nicholas and I were watching old 90s videos. You know, the usual: Semisonic, Alanis, Dishwalla, Fuel, Marilyn Manson. Anyhow, we watched Veruca Salt's "Shutterbug" and it reminded me how much I used to love them and make Nicholas let me borrow "Eight Arms To Hold You" over and over. So I've been obsessed with the song since then, listening to it non-stop and watching the video on Youtube. Then it got me thinking how I always thought it was directed by Floria Sigismondi (i was weird in middle and high school because I used to memorize names of video directors and I could always recognize the aesthetics of certain ones and automatically know who directed what). Then that reminded me of Marilyn's "Tourniquet" and that lead to remembering she did The White Stripes' "Blue Orchid" which was so incredibly amazing. And that lead me to White Stripes videos which have always been my favorite. They can do no wrong in my book; their music and videos are among my favorites of all time. And remember Michel Gondry directed a bunch of their videos, like "The Denial Twist" with Conan O'Brien? Yeah, so in love with Conan. And I've always had a major crush on Michel. Who hasn't, really? Looooooooooove "Eternal Sunshine." So I was watching all the WS videos, including "Hotel Yorba" and duh, Tracee Mae Miller from Blanche is in that video. Who else does Southern Gothic-style music so good? No one. And Tracee Mae is married to Dan John Miller who is also in Blanche. And he was in that George Clooney movie with John Krasinzky from "The Office" and also in "Walk The Line" with my boyfriend Joaquin Phoenix and I'm going to name my first-born son Joaquin (or Hamilton, after the lead singer of the Walkmen or Spencer, after the lead singer of the Murder City Devils). So here's the video that started it all and my favorite Sigismondi video of all time: Christina Aguilera's "Fighter." And now I'm reminded of Tool's video for "Stinkfist" and Tool is reminding me of Maynard reminding me of A Perfect Circle reminding me of how I used to be obsessed with their song "3 Libras." Just thinking of it is making me tear up a bit. Gosh. And done.

Sooo good.

You're not a loser if you like Tool videos; you're cool.

If I lived in Hamilton and ever ran into her parents, I'd want to stop them and tell them how much I love their daughter's videos.
